Thursday,March 21st (10:00 – 11:00 AM GMT+1) – Webinar: How to test materials protection against high temperature corrosion?
Live webinar using Microsoft Teams
Many industrial processes operate at high temperature for prolonged time and involve hot gas production and transport. Typical processes include airplane engines, turbines, high temperature furnaces, steam processes or nuclear environment.
Materials used in these harsh environments are subjected to corrosion, which is a reaction of the material with the hot gas resulting in a progressive modification of its composition.
Typical corrosion reaction include oxidation, carburization, nitridation, etc. This phenomenon is usually highly detrimental and can lead to reduced service life or even catastrophic failure.
In this webinar, thermal analysis techniques and equipment used to study high temperature corrosion will be presented. Their usefulness in the study of corrosion, in the prediction of service life, and the development of material protection will be highlighted.
